Child Models

It's important to realize that there is a wide demand for all types of kids as models. Photographers and agents agree that in today's highly visual world of print and television advertising, there's room for kids of all shapes and sizes and ethnic backgrounds, provided they photograph well and have the right attitude for the rigors of the work.

So that means any child who looks great in photographs might have a career opportunity. There is one limiting factor, however, and that is that the bulk of advertising and illustration photography takes place in only a few major cities.

Groom 101 for Males

Many times, a clean-shaven face is a requirement for male models. One way to get a close shave is not to shave first thing after waking up in the morning. Make sure you are careful and don't cut yourself! You need that face for the shoot!

Fingernails

Neat, clean fingernails are ALWAYS important. Regardless of your type of shoot or look your going for, you always want clean nails. Nails should always be kept trim and shaped with regular filing. Also, please try not to bite your nails... No one likes that!

Consider removing chest and back hair before your appearance. Waxing is a good solution for removing chest and back hair because it leaves your skin smooth and only has to be repeated every two or three weeks, depending on the rate of hair re-growth of coarse. If you shave your body hair, do not shave right down to the skin, as this could leave unsightly razor burn!
